    A really good buy

Such fun! Such a time-saver! Brilliant service from Woolstack again. Although there were less expensive makes on the market,I chose to pay the £30-odd for this one. It comes in a stout cardboard box, so it is easy to store when not in use. it's good quality. The instructions were simple, and clear. I fixed it to my ironing board. You do have to tighten the wing nut firmly. I had so much fun winding the first yarn cakes, that I looked around for other untidy, half collapsed, balls of wool, and made them into cakes too. The only minor snag was that, when I wound three strands together, they didn't stay together as one strand when knitting. One strand stayed taut; the two others bellied. But it was easy to cut, and re-wind. I would do this again, but make smaller yarncakes if winding 3 strands together. This latter comment is nothing to do with the KnitPro ball winder itself; just an observation on what may happen if you want to wind two or three strands together. Wish I'd bought one years ago.

Description

This new Wool Winder from KnitPro is a must have for knitters - it winds a hank or skein of yarn into a ball.

The winder clamps to a table, and you just turn the handle and wind away!

Once wound, the yarn can be pulled from the centre of the ball, or from the outside.
