This yarn swift has made short work of a few 1ply skeins I've been given to knit a cardigan with. What would have taken me hours to do by hand (because I messed things up...) took mere minutes once the swift was set up (and that was quick and easy). This works even better when combined with a yarn winder. Quality and build are great. Highly recommended!
Seems to work pretty well - easy to set up and reasonably sturdy. Not totally sure about the fact that the wood strips are just tied together at the ends with what is essentially string, but that just seems to be how swifts are made! Works well with the knitpro ball winder - my main gripe is that the winder came with assembly instructions, but not operating instructions, so be ready to find a video online if you've never used one before.
