    excellent trial pack of interchangeable needles

    Having become addicted to knitting recently I wanted to try out interchangeable needles and looked on Ravelry for advice. Sensibly most people suggested trying out different materials to see what suits you best, and this is a good way to do that without spending too much. I'm not fond of the Spectra Flair; like the feel of symphonie wood but found them a bit dark for the yarn I'm currently using and particularly like the Nova metal, which I didn't expect. Great quick service from Woolstack too, I'll use them again.

    Just what I needed

    I wanted to invest in some interchangeable circular needles. I just started knitting and as a crocheter regular needles are uncomfortable, so I want to do all knitting, straight or round, on circular needles. I agonized over which material would be best, acrylic, metal or wood. I kept going back and forth between the different full sets. Then I noticed the sampler set, just what I needed. A way to try each material before going for a full set, and having them in different sizes is very useful if all three are acceptable. I had almost ordered a full set of acrylic needles, being the cheapest option, but I am so glad I bought this set first. I really don't like the squeak of the acrylic needles, it makes my hair stand on end. I think I prefer the wood but I will do some more testing before deciding on which set I will ultimately buy. A great way to try things out if you're not sure which type of needles you would like. And not too expensive either. I'm very glad KnitPro made this set.

If you're after an introduction to interchangeable needles, then this is the perfect set for you! The Comby Interchangeable Sampler Set (I) contains a pair each of Nova Metal, Symfonie Wood and Trendz Acrylic needle tips along with 2 cables in useful lengths.

Nova Metal needles are made from hollow brass pipes which have been electroplated. This provides a smooth surface that allows stitches to move freely and quickly. These needles are lightweight, durable and comfortable to knit with.

Symfonie Wood needles ares made from colourful densified laminated birch wood. They are lightweight yet exceptionally strong and and durable. Water absorption in Symfonie wood needles is negligible and, as a result, there is no chance of warping. The polished wood surface works effortlessly with every type of yarn without slowing down knitting rhythm. Warm to the touch, these needles are a pleasure to knit with.

Trendz Acrylic needles are made from superior quality acrylic material. Lightweight, smooth and with just the right amount of flexibility, these needles are also exceptionally strong and durable. Ideal for new knitters as well as the more experienced.

The Comby Interchangeable Sampler Set (I) contains 3 pairs of needle tips and 2 cables, packaged in a handy vinyl case.

Interchangeable needles work by screwing the end of the flexible cable into the needle tips, tightening with the cable key to ensure the cables don't come undone during knitting. Smooth joins enable stitches to slide easily from tip to cable.

These tips are standard length - approximately 12cm (4.75") long, a popular length for day-to-day use and medium / large projects.

Please Note: circular lengths are achieved when needle tips and cables are joined together. The length does not refer to the actual length of the cable on its own.
